If you were to ask the average Christian what God’s plan of salvation is, they might tell you something like this. Jesus came and died for our sins, so that we might live for Him, now and forever. They might add in a few details about going to heaven, or about Jesus coming back and ruling over the entire earth.
What about before Jesus came? Was there a “plan” for everyone before Jesus? And if there was, why did it take about 4,000 years for Jesus to come?
This web site is for anyone who wants a more comprehensive understanding of God’s covenants with man and His coming Kingdom, because it isn’t quite that simple. Yes, Jesus did come and die for our sins, so that we might live for Him, now and forever. But how? Because that’s an awfully vague concept without more details.
Regarding God’s covenants, Paul said in Galatians 3:28 that there is “neither Jew nor Greek” for we are all one in Christ. But, many passages emphasize that there are differences between the Jews and the Gentiles. For instance, Romans 11:11 says that through the fall of God’s people, the Israelites, salvation has come to the Gentiles, and verse 25 continues that the Israelites are blinded in part “until the fulness of the Gentiles” have been saved. Are there any other differences that we should be aware about, in how God deals with these two groups?
There are thousands of different Christian denominations, and several more Jewish sects. Regardless of who has it right, what is God going to do with this huge mess? Will anything happen to sort things out, before Jesus returns?
It’s true that through baptism in Jesus’ name, we have access to the Holy Spirit through which we’re supposed to come into the knowledge of “all things.” But what does that mean in practice? Are there things we won’t learn through the Holy Spirit – for instance, do we need someone to teach us instead? Also, is there anything that hasn’t been revealed yet, but will be in the future, before Jesus returns?
I propose that the average Christian’s understanding of God’s plan of salvation is dreadfully incomplete – even to the point that they might even be in danger of losing their salvation if they’re caught unprepared by future events that the bible warns us are coming, before the return of Christ. But this isn’t meant to fear-monger! Instead, we should be able to understand not only the potentially terrifying things that are coming before Jesus’ returns, but also what to expect after Jesus returns.
Did you know that many people will actually survive the events of the end times, and still be alive when Jesus returns? Did you know that there will be many nations that will still exist – including ones that might want to rebel against Jesus’ rulership? Did you know that the coming Kingdom of God will be on earth, as a modern-day utopian society, and that only the kind of people who develop good character in this life will be allowed to live forever in it?
Jesus is at the center of God’s plan of salvation, but there’s so much more to it than just Jesus coming and dying for our sins!
Feel free to explore this web site and study various aspects of that coming Kingdom. God bless!
